My Journey: How It All Began and What Makes Me Stand Out
Meet Eric Dunston, known to many as Coach E, the founder and Master Trainer of Physique Improvements Online & In Person Personal Training. With a deep passion for fitness, Eric has dedicated over 40 years to the industry, including 10 years as a competitive bodybuilder from 1981 to 1991. His love for fitness continues today as he helps friends, family, and clients achieve their health and wellness goals.
Eric has been happily married for 30 years to Michelle, who is also a fitness coach specializing in nutrition for pre-diabetics and fitness for women over 50. Together, they enjoy traveling and actively volunteer within the deaf and hard of hearing community. With no children or pets, they focus on their family, fitness, and enjoying a relaxing evening with a movie.
As a certified Master Trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), with over 12 years of professional certification experience, Eric is focused on helping those over 50 achieve sustainable fitness. He is also certified in TRX Suspension Training, utilizing this system of bodyweight exercises for safe yet effective results. His personal philosophy is that short, focused workouts—no longer than 30 minutes—are all most people need to see real progress.
Eric’s fitness programs are designed around the principles of Autonomy, Identity, and Direction (AID), helping individuals succeed by aligning their goals with their values and habits. Whether through personalized training, his engaging video-podcast “Beyond the Workout,” or his recommendations for home gym equipment, Eric is dedicated to supporting his clients as both a coach and a friend on their fitness journey.
