Meet Coach E — Eric Dunston
In 2011, after losing my job, I made a bold move and became a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness. At 48 years old, I discovered something powerful. The fitness industry wasn’t really designed for people like me. It also wasn’t designed for the people I wanted to help.
Working with clients over 50, I saw firsthand how fitness can change lives—even in ways many thought impossible. I still remember a 60-year-old client outpacing a much younger trainee in a sprint challenge. That moment showed me that age doesn’t have to limit performance—it just requires a smarter, more supportive approach.
In 2016, I launched Physique Improvements, LLC. It is a fitness company dedicated to helping adults 50 and older feel stronger. Our goal is for them to move better and build lasting health. From that foundation, I developed the BETTER Fitness Program. It is a structured yet flexible system. It is designed specifically for real people with real lives.
Why I Created the BETTER Program
The truth is simple: we don’t need to train like athletes or live on restrictive diets. Fitness after 50 should be about balance, variety, and sustainability.
I built the BETTER Fitness Program to give people variety without confusion—structure without rigidity—and a path to real progress. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being better than you were yesterday.
