Meet Coach E — Eric Dunston

In 2011, after losing my job, I made a bold decision to become a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness. At 48 years old, I quickly realized something important: the fitness industry wasn’t really designed for people like me or the people I wanted to help.

Working with adults over 50, I saw firsthand how strength training could transform lives. I still remember a 60-year-old client outpacing someone much younger in a sprint challenge. That moment reinforced what I believe today: age doesn’t have to limit performance. The right approach makes all the difference.

In 2016, I founded Physique Improvements, LLC with one mission: to help adults 50+ stay strong, mobile, and independent. That mission led me to develop the BET’R Fitness Method, a practical approach built around Balance, Eating, Training, and Recovery. It’s designed for real people with real lives who want to build lasting health without overcomplicating fitness.


Why I Created the BET’R Fitness Method

The truth is simple: fitness after 50 doesn’t have to be extreme to be effective. You don’t need to train like an athlete or follow restrictive diets. You need a plan that’s practical, sustainable, and built for real life.

That’s why I created the BET’R Fitness Method. Built around Balance, Eating, Training, and Recovery, it provides the structure to make steady progress without the confusion or overwhelm. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s helping you become stronger, healthier, and more capable year after year.
